My Barbie Doll
March 14, 2008
Lily baked a scrumptious cake yesterday. It was supposed to be for dessert after our evening meal but we just couldn’t wait that long to try it. As the kids and I sat around the table enjoying our moist, chocolately afternoon snack the talk turned to what the kids would like to be when they grow up. Lily started it with, “When I grow up I think I’d like to be a choir conducter.” Henry followed with, “I want to be a police man when I grow up – either that or an army man!” Tess said she’d like to be a doctor. Gus joined in saying, “I’m going to be a pilot!” Three year old Mamie, who had been quietly listening to her siblings’ dreams, suddenly jumped up from the table and, with a huge grin on her face, proudly announced, “When I grow up I’m gonna be a Barbie!!”
Hmm…
I seriously wonder if I might have brought another woman’s child home from the hospital three years ago!!
A Barbie?!!
Ah, what a sweet, funny doll my Mary Amelia Anne is!
