OOPS!
February 17, 2008
This is an OOPS (Out Of Order Post Signal) from Old Woman. Isn’t that just the most clever acronym you’ve ever heard?!
An OOPS is a way to alert my blog friends that I have posted a few new things (mostly pictures) but have placed them on, or close to, the actual dates the pictures were taken and/or the events written about took place. You’ll find Tess’ birthday pictures on February 9th, Mamie’s birthday pictures on December 21st, Gus’ birthday pictures on December 10th, and a picture of what St. Nick left in the kids’ shoes on December 6th. Stay tuned for more OOPS.
Dappled Things
February 17, 2008
Take a look at this beautiful poem posted by Dandelionmom over at The Flip Side of DandelionEnd. It’s called Pied Beauty and it was written by Gerard Manley Hopkins, who was a nineteenth century English poet, convert to Roman Catholicism and Jesuit priest.
Read the poem, my friends. And be grateful for God’s gift of “dappled things”
